Summit Rainmeter Skin

Description

Summit is a Rainmeter suite created by aohiocawhda, one of the most consistently impressive designers in the Rainmeter community. Released in September 2025, it accumulated over 179,000 views in a matter of months — a testament to just how well it landed. The concept is simple: a modern, minimal, and elegant desktop setup that gives you everything you actually need, presented in a way that stays out of your way. Nothing flashy, nothing unnecessary. Just clean design that works.

What sets Summit apart from similar minimal suites is how cohesive the whole thing feels right after loading. aohiocawhda designs with a clear visual language across their entire catalogue — soft, well-spaced layouts with deliberate typography choices that never compete with your wallpaper. Summit follows that same approach and takes it to a polished conclusion. Every widget feels like it belongs alongside the others, and the Variables.inc file means you can adjust colours, fonts, and other settings from one place without hunting through individual .ini files.

What's Included

  • Clock widget — displays the current time in a clean, minimal format that sits neatly on any desktop background
  • Date widget — shows the day and full date alongside or near the clock, keeping the layout unified
  • System monitor — live readout of CPU and RAM usage so you can keep an eye on your PC at a glance
  • Weather widget — pulls current weather conditions and temperature, configurable to your location via the variables file
  • Music player — displays currently playing track information via the WebNowPlaying plugin, compatible with Spotify, YouTube, and most web and desktop players

Who Is This Skin For?

Summit is built for users who want a polished, fully functional desktop without a complicated setup or a busy visual result. If your current setup feels either too empty or too cluttered, Summit hits the middle ground well — it's informative without being overwhelming. It works best paired with a calm, atmospheric wallpaper, which aohiocawhda provides a link to in the DeviantArt description.

Requirements

  • Rainmeter 4.5 or higher (free download from rainmeter.net)
  • Windows 7, 8, 10, or Windows 11 (32-bit or 64-bit)
  • WebNowPlaying skin — required for the music player widget; installs the necessary plugin automatically when you run it
  • WebNowPlaying browser extension — required only if you use a web-based music player (YouTube, Spotify Web, etc.); available on the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons

How to Install

  1. Download the .rmskin file from the DeviantArt page linked below
  2. Make sure Rainmeter is already running — you should see its icon in your system tray
  3. Double-click the downloaded .rmskin file to open the Rainmeter Skin Installer
  4. Click Install — Summit is now in your Rainmeter library
  5. Open Rainmeter, go to Manage → Skins, and load the skin components you want
  6. To set up the music player, download and run the WebNowPlaying skin separately — it installs the required plugin in one step
  7. If you use Spotify Web or YouTube in a browser, also install the WebNowPlaying browser extension from your browser's extension store
  8. To customise colours and other settings, open the file at: Documents >> Rainmeter >> Skins >> Summit >> @Resources >> Variables.inc

If the weather widget shows no data after loading, you'll need to enter your location details in the variables file. The DeviantArt page notes that weather is configured through a separate WVariables-style setup — check the skin's @Resources folder for a weather configuration file and follow any notes in the skin description.
